Is it a conversion problem, or no visitors to convert?

A page at position 2.9 with zero clicks has a conversion rate of zero by arithmetic, not by design. This check separates the pages CRO can fix from the pages it cannot touch.

The Denominator Check

All six answers come from Search Console and a keyword tool. Item 2 is the one that splits the backlog.

Item 1

For your top 20 landing pages, can you see impressions and clicks separately — not just sessions?

Sessions alone cannot tell a reach problem from a conversion problem.

Item 2

Do you know how many of those pages rank in the top 10 and returned near-zero clicks over the last 90 days?

Count them in the box below. These pages cannot be fixed by on-page CRO.

Item 3

Does every conversion report show rate, absolute conversions and impressions together?

So nobody can present one without the other two.

Item 4

Have you checked the traffic-potential-to-volume ratio on your top 20 terms?

Anything above roughly 10× is a topic, not a keyword, and should be rebriefed as one.

Item 5

Is branded follow-up instrumented — branded search and direct traffic watched for lift after unbranded content ships — and agreed in advance to count as a search outcome?

Agreed in advance. Afterwards it reads as excuse-making.

Item 6

Is your evaluation window at least 45 days?

Any no among items 4, 5 and 6 means you will misread the result even with the estate sorted.

Item 2's count is the one that decides which state you are in.

“At least 543” is deliberate: the export caps at 500 rows per slice, so that figure is a floor, not a census. One domain, one window — a case study, not a law.

Two problems, two owners, one queue

Separate the pages that need retrieval work from the pages that need conversion work before allocating another hour of design time. They are not the same backlog.
