The Indexable AI Visibility Index
A recurring, quarterly Share-of-Model ranking of the brands that win AI answers — one B2B category at a time. We ask the five biggest AI engines the questions real buyers ask, then measure who gets named, who gets cited, and who gets left out.
A leaderboard for the AI answer layer
Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI surfaces which vendor to trust — long before they visit a website. The AI Visibility Index measures who those engines actually name and cite, category by category, so a market can see its real AI-answer standings instead of guessing.
Each edition reports Share of Model — a brand's share of all mentions among the tracked leaders in its category — plus which engines disagree, which source domains the models read, and where being cited quietly fails to become being recommended. It is first-party, reproducible, and published with its methodology and caveats in the open.
How each edition is built
~50 real, brand-neutral buyer questions per category. Any prompt that names a specific vendor is excluded, so no brand is inflated by its own "vs" or "what is" queries.
Five AI engines — ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode — tracked over roughly three weeks via Ahrefs Brand Radar.
For every answer we record which brands are named or recommended and which domains are cited as sources — then rank by Share of Model. US, English.

Secure Infrastructure Access — 2026
Across 5 AI engines and 50 buyer questions, no brand exceeds 24% Share of Model. Okta owns the three chatbots; Teleport owns both of Google's AI surfaces — and the brands AI reads often aren't the ones it recommends.
